Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in Fort Worth, TX, to manage day-to-day AP activities and support accurate financial reporting and month-end close. The role offers a hands-on, high-volume environment with opportunities to learn journal entries, accruals, and centralization of AP processes.

The ideal candidate has an accounting foundation, AP experience, and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience required.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, GL coding, and reconciliations.
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
• Review invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper general ledger coding.
• Process vendor payments through ACH, checks, wires, and other payment methods.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and payment issues.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and other required documentation.
• Assist with new vendor setup and ongoing vendor maintenance.
• Prepare and maintain accounts payable reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and work with internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure payments are processed according to established terms.
• Assist with annual 1099 preparation and reporting.
• Maintain organized documentation and appropriate internal controls.
• Support internal and external audit requests related to accounts payable.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls, and efficiencies.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed.
