Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to manage vendor invoicing, coding, and timely payments. You will support the accounting team with daily AP operations and ensure records align with policy.

The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and collaboration with the finance group, with opportunities to participate in month-end close and audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review, code and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents (3-way match).
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records and files.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Support audits by providing required documentation.
• Perform data entry and general administrative accounting tasks as needed.
