Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide back-up coverage for AP Clerk I–III and help implement new processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and daily work with high volumes of transactions.

Responsibilities include three-way invoice matching, processing payments and travel expenses, and vendor communications. Experience with CGI systems and Salesforce is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; 3 years of AP experience in a computerized environment.
• Preference for Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting.
• Knowledge of CGI financial system and Salesforce desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reviews invoices and payment requests for documentation and approval.
• Enters invoices with three-way matching (Vendor, PO, Receiving) and conducts invoice audits.
• Processes payment requests and employee travel expenses.
• Verifies invoice data and remittance details against the financial system.
• Supports 2nd level approval for invoices up to 150K; reconciles vendor statements.
• Responds to vendor inquiries and resolves invoice discrepancies.
• Assists in implementing new processes and training documents.
