Job summary

Montana Construction is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage invoices, ensure accurate coding, and maintain timely payments in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, generating AP reports, and supporting audits. Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel, plus strong attention to detail and communication skills, are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in accounts payable or related accounting role.
• Experience with ERP systems Foundations or Sage (a +) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of accounting principles and payroll compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process invoices accurately and timely.
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
• Ensure correct coding of invoices to accounts and cost centers.
• Prepare and process payment runs via checks, ACH, wire transfers, and other methods.
• Reconcile payments with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end close and AP reporting.
• Support audits with required documentation.
