Job summary

Atlantic Constructors Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. You will manage high-volume transactions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate AP records.

This role requires 2+ years in accounting, strong data-entry skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Occasional visits to construction sites may be required; a team-focused environment is offered with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years general accounting experience.
• Excellent alphanumeric data entry skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic accounting principles knowledge; problem-solving and data analysis.
• Familiarity with AR/AP/GL systems and procedures; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor/invoice transactions with proper coding and approvals.
• Process EFT, credit card, and check payments.
• Process weekly garnishment checks and employee reimbursements.
• Handle EFT verifications and vendor inquiries.
• Maintain AP reports, spreadsheets and files; reconcile statements.
• Manage Home Depot and Lowe's accounts; assist monthly closings.
• Prepare account analysis; perform filing and other duties as assigned.

Summary/Objective:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing Accounts Payable functions (timely processing of vendor and subcontractor invoices, recording, and check processing) for the Company and other accounting functions as assigned

Essential Functions:

• Process high volume transactions/invoices for appropriate documentation, coding, and approval prior to payment. To include rejections, errors, and posting.
• Process payment batches to include, EFT, credit card, and check payments.
• Process weekly garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
• Process weekly employee reimbursements.
• Process Truist Credit Card Transactions.
• Perform EFT verifications.
• Answers vendor inquiries.
• Maintains accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliation.
• Home Depot and Lowe's account management.
• Assists co-workers as necessary.
• Assists with monthly closings.
• Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
• Performs filing and copying.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: No

Required:

• 2+ years general accounting experience and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
• Excellent alphanumeric data entry skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi- tasking skills
• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable and accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
• Must be available to work assigned schedules and extended hours as needed including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours

Work Environment:

• Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
• Position may require visits to construction site

Physical Demands:

• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines

Travel:

• May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight)

Preferred:

• Vista/Viewpoint experience
• Prior military experience
• HS diploma or GED equivalent
