Our client, a growing organization in Nashville, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Review invoices, receipts, and expense reports for proper coding and approvals.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, account inquiries, and discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
• Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payment of obligations.
• Support audit requests by providing documentation and reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with accounting and operational teams on financial matters.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
• Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and best practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
