Job summary

Stellar Senior Living is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist for our Midvale, Utah corporate office. You will manage a high volume of invoices with accuracy, coding, verifying, and timely posting of expenses while collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year AP experience, strong Excel skills, and a detail-driven mindset to support cost reporting audits and ongoing process improvements. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of accounts payable or accounting experience required; high-volume processing experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or coursework in accounting preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting systems and procurement platforms.
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities with multi-priority handling.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented with ability to build strong vendor and internal relationships.
• Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code, process, and verify large volumes of invoices to ensure proper posting of expenses within deadlines.
• Review invoices, payment terms, and supporting documentation with high accuracy.
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, set up payments, and onboard them into the accounts payable system.
• Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure timely follow-up on emails, requests, and payment issues.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances promptly.
• Generate and analyze reports to monitor compliance with company policies and identify process improvements.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports as needed.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms, and assist with 1099 issuance.
• Work with the nursing team to ensure accurate postings for cost reporting audits.
• Provide accounts payable training and support to community-level teams; participate in special projects.

Your Role

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our company's financial operations. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and process a high volume of invoices in a fast-paced environment.

• Accurately code, process, and verify large volumes of invoices to ensure proper posting of expenses within deadlines
• Review invoices, payment terms, and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy
• Communicate directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies, set up payments, and onboard them into the accounts payable system
• Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure timely follow-up on emails, requests, and payment issues
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances promptly
• Generate and analyze reports to monitor compliance with company policies and identify areas for process improvement
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports as needed
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms, and assist with 1099 issuance
• Work closely with our skilled nursing team to ensure accurate postings for cost reporting audits
• Provide accounts payable training and support to our community-level teams, and participate in special projects as assigned
