Job summary

Stellar Senior Living Resource Center in Midvale, Utah, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our corporate office team. This hourly role requires real AP experience and offers a chance to own a high volume of invoices with accuracy and care as part of a dedicated team serving seniors.

You will code, process, and verify invoices, manage payment terms, and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of accounts payable or accounting experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with accounting systems.
• Strong communication and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately code, process, and verify large volumes of invoices to ensure proper posting of expenses within deadlines.
• Review invoices, payment terms, and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Communicate directly with vendors to resolve discrepancies, set up payments, and onboard them into the accounts payable system.
• Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure timely follow-up on emails, requests, and payment issues.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding balances promptly.
• Generate and analyze reports to monitor compliance with company policies and identify areas for process improvement.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and reports as needed.
• Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms, and assist with 1099 issuance.
• Work closely with our skilled nursing team to ensure accurate postings for cost reporting audits.
• Provide accounts payable training and support to our community-level teams, and participate in special projects as assigned.
• The accounting team is growing, and this role offers opportunities for advancement into broader responsibilities such as financial analysis, account reconciliations, and financial reviews.

Your Role

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our company's financial operations. • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting systems and procurement platforms
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service-oriented, with the ability to build strong vendor and internal relationships
• Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
