The ideal candidate has AP experience, strong attention to detail, and can work independently in a lean accounting team. Yardi experience is preferred, with solid Excel skills to support accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous Accounts Payable experience required.
• Yardi experience strongly preferred; candidates without Yardi must have real estate accounting background.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with property management and accounting personnel.

Responsibilities

• Process approximately 100 invoices per week and issue payments through Yardi.
• Review invoices for accuracy and proper allocation to purchase orders.
• Maintain vendor and accounts payable files and records.
• Maintain parking pass summaries and distribute monthly passes to tenants.
• Assist with PayScan and purchase order procedures.
• Support tenant utility billing and other accounting activities as needed.
• Provide backup coverage for accounts receivable during vacations.
• Assist with additional administrative and accounting responsibilities as needed.

Position Summary

A real estate company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day AP operations for its operating properties and management company. This individual will be the primary person responsible for Accounts Payable, processing approximately 100 invoices per week and ensuring invoices are accurately coded, allocated, and paid on time. The ideal candidate has experience with Yardi or a background in real estate accounting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a lean accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process approximately 100 invoices per week and issue payments through Yardi, including the PayScan function, for operating properties and the management company.
• Review invoices for accuracy and ensure proper allocation to purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate vendor and accounts payable files and records.
• Maintain parking pass summaries and distribute monthly parking passes to tenants.
• Assist property management personnel with PayScan and purchase order procedures.
• Support tenant utility billing and other accounting-related activities as needed.
• Develop an understanding of the tenant accounts receivable process to provide backup coverage during vacations.
• Assist with additional administrative and accounting responsibilities as needed.
