Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County is seeking a part-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team and ensure timely, accurate invoice processing across multiple club sites and care centers.

You will own the full accounts payable cycle, administer staff purchase cards, and support monthly close activities. This role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and confidentiality to support programs serving youth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts payable or finance experience.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Experience with vendor management and coding invoices.
• Ability to work part-time and maintain a reliable processing rhythm.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounts payable process for all Clubhouse and licensed care sites.
• Code and process invoices accurately and timely.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and payment documentation.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, our work is about giving young people safe, supportive places to learn, grow, and belong. With four Clubhouses and four licensed care center campuses, we are the largest provider of youth programming in Whatcom County-and we're growing.

We're looking for a part-time Accounts Payable Specialist who is organized, dependable, and takes pride in getting the details right. This role is a key part of the Finance team, ensuring that bills are processed accurately and on time so our Clubhouses, care centers, and programs have the resources they need to serve kids.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll own the organization's full accounts payable cycle-from receiving and coding invoices through approvals, payments, and vendor recordkeeping. You'll also administer staff purchase cards and expense reimbursements and provide support during the monthly close process.

In this role, you will:

• Own the full accounts payable process across all Clubhouse and licensed care sites.
• Review, code, route, and process invoices accurately and timely.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and payment documentation.
• Administer staff purchase cards and expense reimbursements.
• Ensure expenses are appropriately coded to the correct program, site, and funding source.
• Support monthly financial close and related reconciliation activities.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve questions and discrepancies.
• Handle confidential financial information with care and sound judgment.
• Maintain a consistent, reliable processing rhythm within a part-time schedule.
