Gillman Home Center in Batesville, IN seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to handle high-volume AP and assist with reconciliations. This full-time role requires organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced office.

You will review invoices, process vendor payments, collaborate with vendors, customers, sales and accounting teams, and support other projects as needed. Prior AP/GL experience and proficiency with Excel are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
• 3+ years of Accounts Payable and/or General Ledger experience.
• Strong problem solving skills and accounting principles knowledge.
• Self-starter, highly organized with attention to detail and reliability.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; works well independently or in a team.

Gillman Home Center is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to work at our headquarters in Batesville, Indiana. This person will handle high-volume accounts payable, and assist with account reconciliatons. It is a very fast paced environment and will require the person to be well-organized and have strong attention to detail.

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent customer service to our team members, customers and vendors.
• Performs routine accounting activities such as account reconciliation, preparation of various accounting reports and accounts payable functions.
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Process vendor invoices; matching invoices and entering into computer system.
• Collaborate seamlessly with vendors, customers, the sales and accounting teams and management.
• Assist with other projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position will work inside at an office.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

Travel:

Local, to the bank and post office as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• 3+ years of Accounts Payable and/or General Ledger experience

• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable, and general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
• Strong problem solving skills, thorough accounting principles knowledge, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
• Must have a strong work ethic, be highly-organized, and a self-starter
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
