Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist in Schaumburg, IL for a 3-month contract with extension potential. You will manage PO and non-PO invoices, perform three-way matching, and ensure timely payments in a fast-paced AP environment.

You should have 3–5 years of AP or accounting experience, familiarity with ERP systems, and strong Excel skills to support month-end close and vendor relations.

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of PO and non-PO invoices accurately.
• Perform 3-way matching between invoices, POs, and receiving documents.
• Enter, code, and maintain invoices within the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances.
• Prepare and process ACH, wire, and check payments.
• Assist month-end close, including AP accruals and reporting.
• Maintain organized AP records for audit purposes.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues.

What You'll Be Doing

• Process a high volume of PO and non-PO invoices accurately and efficiently
• Perform 3-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
• Obtain appropriate approvals for non-PO invoices and resolve discrepancies
• Enter, code, and maintain invoices within the accounting system
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances
• Prepare and process ACH, wire, and check payments
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and reporting
• Maintain organized AP records and supporting documentation for audit purposes
• Follow established internal controls, accounting procedures, and company policies
• Partner with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues quickly and accurately

What We're Looking For

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3–5 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience
• Experience working with accounting/ERP systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills
