Job summary

Lexus of Oxnard, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk. The role supports invoice processing, vendor communications, and month-end tasks in a busy automotive environment. Training is provided; a stable schedule and team culture await.

Prior AP/AR experience, basic office software skills, and a high school diploma are required. Compensation ranges hourly from $21 to $25, with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, disability

Qualifications

• 1-2 years AP/AR experience, automotive experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, organized and effective problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prepare invoice deduction notices as necessary.
• Assist with related special projects and month-end closings.
• Answer vendor inquiries and manage accounts receivable correspondence.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
• Prepare invoice deduction notices, as necessary
• Audit freight bills against freight manifests
• Answer all vendor inquiries
• Analyze vendor accounts and negotiate extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted
• Prepare accounts payable checks
• Print all accounts payable reports and maintain all accounts payable files
• Prepare analysis of accounts, as required
• Assist in monthly closings
• Prepare daily cash deposits and complete cash control sheet
• Enter finalized cash receipts and update accounts receivable ledger by customer
• Obtain and mail invoice copies for customers, as requested
• Process daily credit card deposits
• File check stubs and bank receipts
• Research and process customer claims of invoice payment
• Research and process charge backs, returns, and bad checks
• Answer accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow up
• Call and/or mail correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts
• Assist with related special projects, as required
• Other duties as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 1-2 years AP/AR experience, previous automotive experience a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products, and the general use of a computer and calculator
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated, organized, and effective problem-solver
• Advanced computer skills
• High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred
