Job summary

Friend Health in Chicago, IL seeks an Accounts Payable Clerk to support daily financial operations, process invoices, issue payments, and assist with payroll. The role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and solid knowledge of accounting and payroll practices.

Key duties include reviewing vendor statements, entering invoices, balancing payables, reconciling accounts, maintaining records, and assisting with financial reports.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and advanced formulas; macros preferred.
• 2–5 years of accounts payable and payroll support experience, preferably in a healthcare or finance setting.
• Working knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
• Ability to work autonomously in challenging environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication with a customer-service focus.
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy.
• Familiarity with Hybrent, Sage, EHR systems and billing software; Centricity and Epic are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Accounting inbox to receive and review requests for payment or assistance.
• Enter invoices, prepare, and issue payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Assist with payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
• Review payroll-related documentation for completeness and confidentiality of employee information.
• Assist with researching and resolving payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll inquiries.
• Keep accurate records of payments, vendor files, and other relevant documents.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements related to accounts payable.
• Balance out all payables each day and assist in preparing daily and monthly reports.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data and balancing vendor and expense statements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
