Job summary

Saint Anselm College, a Catholic liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, invites applications for the Accounts Payable Manager. Reporting to the Controller, the manager is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payables and employee reimbursements, while delivering excellent service to faculty, staff, students, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and collaborative, with experience using Workday in higher education.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience required.
• Experience using Workday financial systems strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of AP processes, expense reimbursements, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, check requests, and payment transactions using Workday.
• Ensure proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation for all disbursements.
• Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with policies and IRS regulations.
• Coordinate with purchasing to maintain supplier records and W-9 documentation.
• Reconcile year-end AP data and prepare IRS 1099 forms.
• Reconcile AP transactions and resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to AP.
• Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules and monthly amortization entries.
• Support fixed asset accounting, including depreciation tracking and inventory maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and policies.
• Respond to vendor and campus inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Assist with audits by providing requested documentation and reports.
• Generate reports and support process improvements for supplier invoices and expenses.
