Job summary

The Texas Institute for Electronics, UT Austin-affiliated, seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the A/P team and oversee complex payments in a university setting. You will ensure accurate, timely processing and compliance with university and state requirements while contributing to ERP-related improvements. This role covers invoicing, PO reviews, vendor management, and process optimization.

Bachelor’s degree with at least four years in accounts payable and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of accounts payable experience in high-volume environments.
• Proven leadership of an A/P or finance team with workload and performance development.
• Advanced knowledge of AP functions: invoice review, three-way matching, payments, vendor maintenance, reconciliations.
• Expertise in procurement- and contract-related payments (POs, contracts, payment terms).
• Experience interpreting policies and ensuring compliance while handling exceptions.
• Experience driving process improvements and ERP-related changes.
• Proficiency with ERP financial systems, AP platforms, and Excel.
• Broad experience across transaction processing, purchasing, planning, and financial analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Professional written and verbal communication and customer service orientation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Experience using electronic accounting/work management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and leads accounts payable with day-to-day leadership of the A/P team.
• Ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payments per CSU, university, state, and federal requirements.
• Provides operational oversight and supports future ERP implementation.
• Contributes to continuous process improvement initiatives.
