Job summary

Considine Search is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager in Kansas City, MO to lead the firm’s AP function and drive process improvements. This role interfaces with attorneys, staff, and leadership to ensure accurate, on-time payments and strong internal controls.

Candidate must have 5+ years of AP experience, prior team leadership, and proficiency with Elite 3E and Emburse/ChromeRiver. Competitive compensation and a professional services setting await.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressively responsible Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a large professional services or law firm.
• Experience leading or managing employees, including coaching and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable processes, policies, internal controls, and payment practices.
• Experience with Elite and Chrome River is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across departments and offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable with adherence to firm policies, internal controls, and service standards.
• Lead, develop, coach, and mentor AP team members for growth and accountability.
• Set priorities, coordinate workloads, and ensure timely AP completion.
• Oversee vendor invoice processing, payment execution, and vendor file maintenance.
• Oversee client trust disbursements, foreign vendor payments, and 1099 reporting.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with attorneys, staff, and leadership.
• Communicate AP requirements clearly to financial and non-financial audiences.
• Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally across departments.
• Lead process and system improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead AP system administration and coordinate with IT for upgrades.
