Job summary

Pivot Energy in Denver seeks an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and scale our AP function. You will mentor a growing team, implement scalable processes, and drive continuous improvement across end-to-end AP activities.

You will own KPIs, ensure policy compliance, and partner with IT on ERP projects including OCR, AI-enabled workflows, and dashboards. A 10+ year AP background with multi-entity experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive Accounts Payable and accounting experience, including at least 5 years managing an AP department or shared services.
• Experience leading high-volume, multi-entity Accounts Payable operations.
• Expertise in ERP systems, AP automation platforms, OCR technology, AI-enabled workflows, and integrated financial systems.
• Demonstrated success leading ERP implementations and AP automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of Accounts Payable professionals while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and service levels to measure performance, productivity and accuracy.
• Develop scalable processes, documentation, and cross-training plans to support growth.
• Direct all Accounts Payable operations including invoice processing, PO matching, payments, and month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with policies, accounting standards, internal controls, and tax requirements.
• Review payment batches and optimize payment timing to balance cash management and vendor relationships.
• Oversee vendor compliance, including 1099 reporting, and resolve complex issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual work and boost efficiency.
• Evaluate and implement AP automation technologies, OCR, and workflow automation.
• Partner with IT on ERP implementations, integrations, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor processing efficiency and approval cycles.
