Job summary

Pivot Energy, a Denver-based renewable energy company, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function across multiple entities. You will drive process improvements, ERP implementations, and AI-enabled workflows while partnering with IT, Procurement, and Construction teams.

The role supervises up to three AP professionals, focusing on controls, accuracy, and scalable operations to support rapid growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading and scaling an Accounts Payable organization.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
• Expertise in ERP systems, AP automation platforms, OCR technology, AI-enabled workflows, and integrated financial systems.
• Demonstrated success leading process improvement, system implementations, and organizational change.
• Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and AP best practices.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize competing initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct all Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, PO matching, payment execution, vendor maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Ensure compliance with policies, approval authority, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Review payment batches and optimize payment timing for cash management and vendor relationships.
• Oversee vendor compliance, including 1099 reporting, and resolve complex issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes and automate.
• Evaluate and implement AP automation technologies and AI-powered workflows.
• Own AP systems in partnership with IT for ERP implementations and upgrades.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor efficiency and processing cycle times.
