Qualifications

• Proficiency with Excel and accounting ERP systems; prior reporting experience.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills with ability to manage high-volume workflows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounts payable operations including high-volume invoice processing and approvals.
• Lead, train, and support AP staff for accuracy and timely task completion.
• Manage vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, handle inquiries.
• Prepare accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for month-end close.
• Oversee corporate card activity, cash disbursements, and domestic/international payments.
• Improve AP procedures and controls while supporting audits.

Job Overview – Accounts Payable Manager

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000/year + bonus

Location: Montgomery County, PA

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager for our client in Montgomery County, PA, overseeing accounts payable operations, vendor payments, and financial reporting. This role will manage a team of accounts payable professionals, support high-volume invoice processing, and oversee month-end close activities. The ideal candidate has strong accounting knowledge, supervisory experience, and expertise in accounts payable systems and process improvement.

Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Manager:

• Accounts Payable Management: Oversee daily accounts payable operations, including high-volume invoice processing, payment approvals, and general ledger transactions.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support accounts payable staff to ensure accurate processing and timely completion of responsibilities.
• Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, resolve payment discrepancies, and address escalated invoice and account inquiries.
• Month-End Close: Prepare accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation for month-end reporting.
• Payment Operations: Oversee corporate card activity, cash disbursements, and domestic and international vendor payments.
• Process Improvement: Strengthen accounts payable procedures, internal controls, and workflow efficiency while supporting audit requirements.

Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Manager:

• Education: Associate degree in Accounting or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred, with equivalent professional experience considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience, including 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience, is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, general ledger accounting, vendor management, and month-end close processes is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Great Plains or other accounting ERP systems is required, with experience supporting financial transactions and reporting preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-volume workflows and changing priorities are required.
