Job description

Proenza Schouler is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee all aspects of the Accounts Payable process. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, compliance with company policies, and effective communication with vendors and internal stakeholders. The Accounts Payable Manager will also lead and develop an Accounts Payable Specialist and implement process improvements for better efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department
• 3-way match all production vendors and work with logistics and production to investigate any discrepancies
• Analyze AP Aging reports and ensure timely payments to maintain vendor relationships
• Process vendor invoices through automated AP System (Concur), ensuring all amounts, vendors, GL accounts and departments are accurate for synchronization into ERP system (RLM)
• Track expenses and process expense reports with use of Concur Expense system
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes related to AP
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Reconcile intercompany payables with Proenza Schouler Italia
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Maintain active 1099 files and file timely in January
• Manage AP Specialist

Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Knowledge of relevant automated invoice and expense software (Concur a plus)
• Proficiency in ERP Systems (RLM a plus)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot table, vlookups)
• Apparel industry experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communications skills a necessity
• Prioritizing and ability to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Confidentiality and Information management skills
• Teamwork and cross-functional mentality

The targeted base salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000. Actual salary offered may be outside of this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is also eligible for additional benefits, including participation in an annual performance-based incentive program, a seasonal clothing allowance, and a 401k match program.
