The Adecco Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager in Glen Allen, VA to lead a high-impact AP function for a multinational environment. Onsite role with responsibility for end-to-end processes, team leadership, and process improvements in ERP/AP systems.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 6+ years in finance, 5+ years leading teams, and advanced Excel skills. SOX compliance and strong vendor relations are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in finance and accounting with progressive AP responsibilities.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading others (hiring, coaching).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, large datasets).
• Experience with large ERP AP system; 1099 filing a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end AP operations and month-end close.
• Lead and develop a 5-person AP team.
• Optimize ERP/AP workflows and controls for scale.
• Partner with Finance, Procurement and business leaders.
• Ensure SOX compliance and ethical vendor relationships.
• Oversee month-end close, reconciliations and GL postings.
• Monitor AP KPIs: aging, accuracy.
• Develop and enforce Expense Report policy.

We have an outstanding career opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager to join a leading Company located in the Glen Allen, VA surrounding area. Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 As an Accounts Payable Manager, you will be leading a high-impact Accounts Payable function at a growing multi-national company-building scalable processes, strengthening controls, and elevating the experience for both vendors and employees. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position is part of the Accounting & Finance team and will be onsite in Glen Allen, VA. Responsibilities :

• Owning end-to-end AP operations and month-end close outcomes-accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Leading and developing a team-coaching, hiring, and creating a culture of accountability and service.
• Driving modernization-optimizing ERP/AP workflows, approvals, and controls to support scale.
• Partnering cross-functionally-being the trusted AP advisor to Finance, Procurement, and leaders across the business.
• Protecting integrity-SOX-minded, detail-driven, and committed to ethical, independent vendor relationships.
• Manage a team of 5 direct reports.
• Develop, monitor, and ensure compliance with the Expense Report policy.
• Ensure all electronic and check disbursements, independent contractors , and tax payments are processed on a timely basis .
• Develop, implement, enhance and optimize the AP systems, functions, procedures and policies, to ensure adherence to guidelines and "best practices" for AP Team.
• Provide outstanding customer service; respond to AP and expense report questions/concerns to meet business needs in a professional and timely manner.
• Oversee the month-end close for Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and timely posting to the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and segregation of duties related to accounts payable and disbursements.
• Monitor and report key AP performance metrics (aging, exception rates, payment accuracy).

Basic Hiring Criteria :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting /Finance required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in finance and accounting (a professional history of progressing Accounts Payable responsibilities).
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading others (a proven track record of hiring, developing, and coaching teams to deliver results).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and manipulation of large data sets across multiple worksheets; proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Large ERP Accounts Payable system experience as well as 1099 filing experience is a plus.
