Job summary

MFA Oil Company is seeking an Accounting Specialist to process and validate data daily between systems, review vendor statements for accuracy, and support accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger activities for Big O Tires locations.

You will communicate with field personnel to resolve errors and provide supporting documents such as invoices and tax exemption requests, and act as back up for the daily audit process.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of strong accounting experience.
• Knowledge of automated accounting systems and processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Import daily General Ledger and Accounts Receivable files from POS into accounting software, validating postings and resolving errors.
• Compare daily scanned documents with information entered in Great Plains; communicate with field personnel to resolve errors.
• Respond to calls and emails, providing accurate information and supporting documents including invoice copies and tax exemptions.
• Receive and apply customer payments accurately and timely.
• Maintain electronic files of reports and supplier invoices.
• Recommend process improvements to the Big O Accounting Manager.
• Back up for the Big O Accounting Clerk in daily audits.
