Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to prepare and execute AP payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data from multiple departments. You will process checks and ACH payments, answer calls, and coordinate communications in a fast-paced office setting.

Responsibilities include creating batch edits, running and matching checks, and reviewing others’ batches for errors. A GED or equivalent, strong detail orientation, and ability to work independently or in a team are

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent education or combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of computers and 10-key touch calculator.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payables.
• Accounts Payables experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs.
• Must comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct.
• Must be able to interact well with other persons.
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting.
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities.
• Responds well to questions; ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute AP payments, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data from other departments.
• Accurately process check and ACH payments.
• Answer and address telephone calls and other communication coordination.
• Create and batch edits.
• Run and match checks.
• Make corrections and files.
• Review batches prepared by others for errors and corrections.
• Regular attendance is required.
