Job summary

DSLD Homes in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an Accounts Payable Clerk to manage invoices, coding, and payments for construction projects and overhead. Under Controller supervision, you will ensure accurate entry and timely disbursements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• College degree in accounting related field or accounting experience preferred.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of standard accounting procedures.
• Strong work ethic and reliable.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal/external customers via telephone, email and in person.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply job cost and general ledger coding processes and procedures.
• Review invoices for appropriate coding, documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
• Enter invoices for daily disbursement runs into the accounting system.
• Enter invoices for multiple companies and business lines.
• Review and process employee reimbursements.
• Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
• Address and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Maintain files and documentation accurately.
• Review vendor statements ensuring that all payments and open payables are entered/completed in a timely manner.
