Hooker Furnishings Corporation, Shenandoah Furniture division, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our Valdese, NC finance team. The role focuses on accurate processing of invoices and supporting records to keep payments timely.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in accounts payable, strong organization, basic accounting knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software. High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.

The Position:

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team in Valdese, NC. This position will play a key role in managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling invoices and other financial records. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and able to work independently to support our finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and print all incoming invoices.
• Review invoices for accuracy and completeness.
• Properly mark invoices with the correct accounts, dates, purchase orders, and other relevant details.
• Enter invoices into accounting system for payment processing.

Documentation and Record‑Keeping:

• Collect and match receiving paperwork and other supporting documentation.
• Access and manage records as needed to support internal and external audits.

Mail and Correspondence:

• Distribute incoming mail and process relevant documentation.
• Engage in minimal correspondence with vendors regarding invoice payment statuses to ensure timely processing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or accounts payable role is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
