Job summary

Comstock Resources, based in Frisco, Texas, seeks an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Accounting Department by processing and routing invoices, resolving coding issues, responding to vendors, and assisting with invoice requests from internal departments and auditors.

Responsibilities include scanning invoices, coding in OpenInvoice, routing for approvals, and preparing journal entries to correct issues. Proficiency with Excel and document management systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an accounts payable clerk in oil and gas.
• Experience with invoice data capture and document management systems such as OpenInvoice or DocVue.
• Experience with Enertia.

Responsibilities

• Scan invoices from multiple vendors into OpenInvoice and code AP invoices.
• Route invoices for approval and resolve coding errors with journal entries.
• Dispute invoices as needed and respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
• Assist with pulling invoices for departments and auditors and meet deadlines.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Office applications effectively.

Comstock Resources, based in Frisco, Texas, acquires, develops, produces, and explores oil and natural gas assets. The company’s operations are concentrated in the Haynesville Shale in North Louisiana and East Texas.

Comstock Resources is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Accounting Department by processing and routing invoices, resolving coding issues, responding to vendors, and assisting with invoice requests from internal departments and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Scan invoices from three to four vendors into OpenInvoice.
• Code AP invoices in OpenInvoice.
• Route AP invoices for approval.
• Investigate and resolve invoice coding errors, including preparing journal entries to correct identified issues.
• Dispute invoices as needed.
• Process assigned accounts payable work accurately and within established deadlines.
• Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist with pulling invoices for other departments and auditors.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Conduct business following the highest ethical standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience working as an accounts payable clerk in the oil and gas industry.
• Experience with invoice data capture and/or document management systems such as OpenInvoice or DocVue.
• Experience with Enertia.
