Job summary

Straub Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to support our accounting team at the Shawnee, KS location. The role handles invoice processing, vendor communications, 1099s, and reporting, with a focus on accuracy and timely payments.

Ideal candidates have experience in construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE) and strong Excel skills, and are comfortable coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to maintain clean vendor records.

Qualifications

• Experience as Accounts Payable Administrator in a commercial construction setting (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with construction accounting software (Sage 300 CRE).
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail and deadline-driven.
• Able to interact with internal staff, subcontractors and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Import daily invoices into Timberscan, code and route for approval.
• Coordinate payments by communicating with subcontractors and vendors for required documentation
• Process outgoing payments in line with policies and project/subcontract agreements
• Set up and maintain vendor records; assist in issuing 1099s
• Prepare vendor/subcontractor reports such as payment history and status
• Understand compliance issues (W-9s, sales tax, lien waivers)
• Perform monthly credit card reconciliations
• Provide front desk support when needed on Mondays or during breaks
