Job summary

Leoforce is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join its Fort Worth accounting team. The role focuses on managing day-to-day AP activities, supporting accurate financial reporting, and assisting with month-end close.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, DEBITS/CREDITS, GL coding, and reconciliations.
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Excel with formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable: invoice review, coding, approvals, and payments.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and proper GL coding.
  • Process vendor payments via ACH, checks, wires, and other methods.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and documentation.
  • Assist with new vendor setup and ongoing maintenance.
  • Prepare AP reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with month-end close: accruals, journal entries, reconciliations.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues with internal teams.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and reporting.
  • Maintain documentation and internal controls.
  • Support audits and process improvements in AP.

Job Details

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable activities while supporting accurate financial reporting and month-end close. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, hands‑on accounts payable experience, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized documentation and appropriate internal controls
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to accounts payable
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls, and efficiencies
  • Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience required
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits, credits, general ledger coding, and account reconciliations
  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an accounting team
