Job summary

The TemPositions Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Analyst to join our client's accounting team onsite in New York. You will handle high-volume AP tasks, vendor communications, and month-end close support, reporting to the AP Manager and guiding clerks as needed.

Responsibilities include processing invoices, PO matching, payment processing, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate AP records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on accounts payable experience.
• Experience with purchase orders and vendor inquiries.
• Understanding of the full accounts payable process.

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Analyst to join our client's accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional with strong hands-on AP experience.

The Accounts Payable Analyst will serve as a key member of the AP team, sitting between the AP Manager and AP Clerks, with responsibility for more complex AP functions, vendor communication, reconciliations, and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
• Enter invoices into the accounting/ERP system
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Prepare and process vendor payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate directly with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and account issues
• Maintain accurate and organized AP records
• Perform vendor reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules in Excel
• Assist with month-end closing and AP reconciliations
• Work with internal departments to resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment issues
• Review AP activity and help identify and resolve discrepancies
• Assist the AP Manager with day-to-day AP operations and special projects
• Provide support and guidance to AP Clerks as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience
• Must have experience working with Purchase Orders
• Strong understanding of the full accounts payable process
• Strong accounting software and Microsoft Excel skills
