About the Role

Our client, a well-established business in Welkom , is seeking a meticulous and organized Accounts Manager to oversee their financial operations and lead the accounting team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all financial transactions and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting, while also ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position offers a great opportunity to lead a finance function and contribute to the stability and growth of the company in the Free State province.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the accounts department, including AP, AR, and payroll functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports for management review.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and investigate any discrepancies identified.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Professional certification such as BCom is advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, South African tax laws, and company secretarial duties.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel or QuickBooks, and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
