Job summary

JBS USA is seeking an Accounting Supervisor for the 1st shift in Ottumwa, IA. You will oversee yield and billing clerks, finalize daily yields for management, and ensure reporting accuracy to support efficient operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with Excel/Word. Expect early hours with occasional Saturday work when the plant runs.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills; time management and reliability essential.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; 10-key experience; able to communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Work 5:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday–Friday; Saturdays as plant runs.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:Accounting Supervisor 1st Shift

DEPARTMENT:Accounting

LOCATION:Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS: Exempt

Responsibilities

• Review and finalize the daily yields to provide to management upon arrival in morning.
• Supervise yield and billing clerks.
• Recommend improvement to production reporting activities to ensure the most efficient and effective operations.
• Must meet local and corporate deadlines.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks timely and efficiently.
• Able to cover accounting jobs when needed.
• Perform various other tasks as needed to ensure efficiency in the accounting department
• Other duties as needed.
• Typical working hours are 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday-Friday. Saturdays required when plant is running.

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management.

• Ability to work 50+ hours
• Good attendance and safety records (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent experience
