Job summary

JBS in Ottumwa, IA seeks an Accounting Supervisor to lead the accounting team and ensure accurate daily yields and timely reporting. You will supervise yield and billing clerks, implement process improvements, and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and proficiency in Excel/Word, with the ability to work 50+ hours and Saturdays when needed.

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

SALARY CLASS : E xempt

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and finalize the daily yields to provide to management upon arrival in morning.
• Supervise yield and billing clerks.
• Recommend improvement to production reporting activities to ensure the most efficient and effective operations.
• Must meet local and corporate deadlines.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks timely and efficiently.
• Able to cover accounting jobs when needed.
• Perform various other tasks as needed to ensure efficiency in the accounting department
• Other duties as needed.
• Typical working hours are 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday-Friday. Saturdays required when plant is running.

R elationships :

Internal: Employees on the production line and pla nt management.

Special Skills:

• Strong leadership and managerial skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• 10-key and computer skills required.
• Previous accounting and office experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English
• Excellent conflict resolution skills
• Computer knowledge required (Must have working knowledge of Excel and Word.)
• Ability to work 50+ hours
• Good attendance and safety records (Less than 3 points, for internal candidates)

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required, or equivalent experience
