Job summary

The Accounting Technician II at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Brenham provides complex accounting support for the financial office. Qualifications

• Experience with accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• Graduation from high school with accounting coursework; college coursework preferred.
• Two years’ experience in accounts payable or reconciliation preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook; knowledge of CAPPs Financials/PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular schedule and performs other duties as assigned.
• Process deposits and bank deposits for cash and checks.
• Code, post and balance financial documents in the Trust Fund system and review funds.
• Serve as Procurement Card Coordinator and reconcile statements.
• Provide accounting audits and travel coordination.
• Assist with payroll processes and prep/submission of vouchers.
