Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Accounting Technician II at Brenham State Supported Living Center. The role provides financial and administrative support, handling deposits, trust fund transactions, vendor payments, and payroll-related tasks.

Working under limited supervision, you will use CAPPS Financials and related systems to maintain accurate records, perform audits, and deliver customer service to staff and consumers.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounting and bookkeeping principles.
• High school diploma with accounting coursework; college coursework in accounting preferred.
• Two years’ experience in accounts payable or reconciliation preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits and entries to CAPPS Financials.
• Code, post, and balance documents in the Client Trust Fund system.
• Serve as Procurement Card Coordinator and reconcile statements.
• Perform accounting audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate employee travel and reimbursements.
• Prepare invoices, cash, and vouchers; assist payroll processes.
