Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking an Accounting Technician to perform technical accounting activities and support the Business Services team. You will assist staff, students and vendors with accounting issues, process vouchers, and prepare reports while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

Responsibilities include reconciliations, journal entries, sponsor billings, audits support, and collaboration with internal teams. Strong Excel and ERP systems skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years related work experience.
• High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff, students and vendors with accounting issues.
• Process employee vouchers, exemptions and waivers.
• Prepare, analyze, and compile accounting reports and ledgers.
• Process billings for sponsors and verify sponsor agreements.
• Perform reconciliations and post journal entries.
• Assist with audits and monthly/annual closings.
• Liaise with vendors and internal partners.
• Support treasury tasks and cash position updates.
• Train staff and test accounting software.
