Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Accounting Technician in Birmingham, AL. This on-site role focuses on general accounting tasks, journal entries, ledgers, and financial analysis within a safety- and quality-conscious environment.

You will support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, with close collaboration across departments and adherence to applicable ERISA/SEC requirements. A foundation in accounting and some college coursework is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma, GED, or two years of accounting-related work experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in standard office software and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts.
• Prepare, analyze and report financial statements, reports and schedules.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of variances from budget.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit and collection duties as needed.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with policies and ERISA/SEC where applicable.

Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for an Accounting Technician!

Responsibilities

Perform general accounting and financial analysis activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of ledger accounts, preparation of financial statements, reports and schedules. Prepare, complete, analyze and report accounting transactions and system maintenance ensuring integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles including ERISA and SEC requirement where applicable. Provide financial support to the business including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget. Maintain strong working relationships with customers. Conduct financial, business analyses and modeling using forecasts, financial statements, and other business inputs to assess risk, improvement opportunities and potential costs and/or benefits. Focus of responsibilities may be to perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, credit and collection, sales rebate duties. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Normal office environment with minimal physical exertion.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically more than three (3) years of experience in related job function. Role may require technical certification or associates degree. Requires effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills and proficient computer skills.
