About the Role
Our client is seeking an Accounting Systems Supervisor to oversee key financial close technologies, accounting processes, and internal controls in a multi-entity environment. This position combines accounting expertise, process improvement, and Blackline systems administration responsibilities while partnering closely with finance, audit, and technology teams to enhance efficiency and accuracy across the close process.
This role is ideal for a technically minded accounting professional who enjoys improving systems, strengthening controls, and leading process automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as the primary administrator for the organization's financial close and account reconciliation platform
- Manage system configuration, user access, workflows, reconciliations, journal entry processes, and related automation initiatives
- Partner with finance, technology, and compliance teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Support the transition of manual processes into streamlined, technology-enabled workflows
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness
- Design, maintain, and monitor internal controls and compliance-related procedures
- Review account reconciliations, journal entries, and other close-related activities
- Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements
Leadership & Team Support
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff responsible for transactional accounting and master data maintenance
- Provide guidance on accounting processes, system usage, and best practices
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting, financial systems, or financial reporting experience
- Strong understanding of financial close, account reconciliations, and internal controls
- Experience partnering with technology teams to improve accounting processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience administering financial close, reconciliation, or account certification software
- Experience with ERP systems and enterprise financial applications
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience supporting process automation and systems optimization initiatives
