Job summary

Jobot is partnering with a growing organization to hire an Accounting Supervisor in Simsbury, CT. The role oversees core accounting operations, drives the close process, and leads a high‑performing team to enhance financial reporting and internal controls.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and contribute to automation and process improvements in a high visibility role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience (direct or indirect).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• Public accounting background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financials.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Oversee general ledger activity, accruals, and estimates.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.
• Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
• Partner cross-functionally to support reporting and financial analysis.
