Job summary

NBT Bank is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to oversee the accounting staff, ensure timely reporting and drive process improvements within the finance team. This role blends technical accounting expertise with leadership to support our banking operations.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred, with 5+ years in banking accounting and supervisory experience, plus strong GAAP and SOX knowledge and the ability to coach and develop staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA certification preferred; 5+ years in accounting, preferably in banking.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of accounting staff and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Lead projects to improve accounting processes and procedures.
• Train, mentor and evaluate accounting team members; conduct performance reviews.
