Job description

Vaco Memphis is assisting our client with their Accounting Supervisor search. This role is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Maintaining accurate general ledgers, tracking assets and liabilities, recording transactions, and ensuring proper documentation.
2. Reconciling bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and other ad-hoc accounts/projects.
3. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
4. Supporting the accounting team in completing the month-end closing process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
5. Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
6. Analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management.
7. Gathering and organizing supporting documentation for audits, collaborating with auditors to address compliance concerns.
8. Reviewing financial transactions and processes to identify potential compliance risks, ensuring adherence to GAAP, internal controls, and regulations.
9. Merger & Acquisition Accounting: (Training provided, no experience necessary)
10. Financial Modeling & Valuation
11. Integration & Financial Reporting
12. Post-Merger Integration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance (required)
• 5+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Understanding of how ERP systems impact business
• Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
• Experience with Access/SQL preferred
• Experience working with ERP systems
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple ongoing assignments
• Strong collaboration, problem-solving, networking, team-building, organizational, and communication skills
