The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with internal controls, and adherence to accounting principles and regulations. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing accounting processes, and supporting strategic financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Manage and supervise accounting team members, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Ensure ongoing training and development of the accounting team.
• Reporting:
• Oversee the preparation of reports and analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure that all financial records and reports are precise and organized.
• Internal Controls and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Accounting Operations:
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales tax compliance processes.
• Implement and maintain efficient accounting systems and procedures.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and workflows.
• Support the implementation of new accounting technologies or software as needed.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and CFO/other departments, ensuring clear communication of financial information.
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other team members.
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and supervisory responsibilities (sales tax experience a plus).
• Knowledge: Proficient in GAAP and internal controls. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and familiarity with accounting tools/software (experience with Microsoft Teams and Power BI a plus).
