Job Purpose/Summary

The Property Accounting Supervisor will lead a team of onshore and offshore accounting professionals, drive process improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient workflow and alignment across departments. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting. This is a fully remote position.

Job Purpose/Summary

HomeRiver Group is looking for a (Remote) Property Accounting Supervisor to join their team. The Property Accounting Supervisor will lead a team of onshore and offshore accounting professionals, drive process improvements, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure efficient workflow and alignment across departments. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting function, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting. This is a fully remote position.

Essential Functions

• Oversee the day-to-day transactional activities performed by the onshore and offshore property accountants. Provide supervision and direction to the Senior Property Accountants.
• Provide guidance and direction for challenging inquiries from Operations personnel and customers and system issues.
• Continuously review operating procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the transactional activity processing.
• Provide training to onshore and offshore property accountants and senior property accountants and enhance, update and revise training materials as required.
• Develop, implement and monitor analysis to ensure the data accuracy of the transactional activities processed by the property accountants.
• Review and approve balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Review and approve month-end close analysis, including account coding, revenue and expense analysis, and all variance explanations.
• Review, analyze, and share feedback on internal and external KPIs (both business performance and processing activities of the accounting team). Measure accuracy and implement performance counseling.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with Operations personnel and our offshore partner leadership.
• Assist with external and internal audit requests (SOX Compliance, Internal Controls, annual financial statements)
• Recommend automation improvements for all processes and procedures impacting the accounting team.
• Special projects and tasks as assigned.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• 3-5-year(s) accounting experience preferred
• 3+ years of property management or related industry experience
• Supervisory skills desired.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and drive to provide superior customer service to all parties.
• Self-starter attitude and ability to prioritize, handle multiple assignments, exercise judgment, and take ownership of projects without direct supervision.
• Team player with a strong work ethic and pro-active orientation, who can anticipate needs, is assertive, and highly accountable, with a mature and positive attitude.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
