Job description

This role will support our Specialty 3PL & Metro Medical GPOs on the Pharmaceutical side of the business.

What Accounting contributes to Cardinal Health

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans, and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems, and safeguards the organization's assets.

Accounting establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, completes technical research, safeguards the organization's assets, and ensures the accuracy of accounting and financial records in accordance with standards.

The Specialty Accounting Supervisor will manage end-to-end accounting processes and ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end close and reconciliation procedures for the Specialty 3PL and Metro Medical GPO businesses within the Pharmaceutical Segment of Cardinal Health.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, evaluate, conclude on, and document technical GAAP matters and operational accounting issues.
• Effectively identify improvement opportunities, select tools and approaches, and collaborate cross-functionally while maintaining flexibility and professional skepticism.
• Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, adapting approach as needed, and demonstrate strong presentation skills.
• Complete work independently with general guidance on new projects.
• Establish processes to review and monitor the quality of outsourced work, partner with outsourced staff, and act in accordance with governance protocols.
• Identify and respond to internal control and financial statement risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support the design, development, and implementation of digital tools in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Experience with SAP preferred

What is expected of you and others at this level

• Contribute to policy and procedure development.
• Oversee outsourced staff and ensure compliance with policies, while training less experienced colleagues.
• Assist in managing the monthly financial close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
• Handle complex projects to support business needs.
• Regularly review accounting processes for improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop technical solutions for difficult problems aligned with organizational goals.

Anticipated salary range: $79,700-$113,800
