Service Metal in Maryland Heights, MO is hiring an Accounting Specialist to support accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and vendor payments for a nationwide distribution company. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career seeking growth through cross-training and increasing responsibility.

You will reconcile payments, process invoices, manage AR aging, and coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree a plus.
• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP, or AR experience preferred.
• Comfortable in Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP/accounting software experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and process customer invoices.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and support collections.
• Process vendor invoices and prepare payment batches (ACH, check runs, electronic payments).
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor records.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing to resolve accounting issues.
• Support audits, compliance documentation, and recordkeeping.
• Cross-train across accounting functions as part of ongoing development.
