Job summary

West Penn Energy Services, LLC is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join the corporate accounting team. This full-time, in-person role is based at our office in Shelocta, PA, and supports Accounts Payable, reconciliations, credit card processing, payroll and billing.

The position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to procedures, and collaboration with accounting and operations teams to ensure precise recording and reporting. Cross-training and backup support are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and established procedures.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work effectively with accounting, operations, management, and other departments.
• Willingness to learn multiple accounting functions and provide cross-functional support.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and route Accounts Payable transactions for approval and processing.
• Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to invoices, statements, and supporting records.
• Enter and review credit card transactions and ensure proper account coding.
• Gather and review timecard information used for payroll and billing; process according to procedures.
• Cross-train in Accounts Payable and Billing to provide coverage during absences.
• Develop understanding of related accounting processes and contribute to improvements.
