Job summary

Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging is seeking an Accounting Specialist at Corporate - North Olmsted, OH. The role provides accounting support across accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.

You will join a private nonprofit focused on helping older Ohioans live independently at home, with a six-week PTO, thirteen paid holidays, a robust training fund, a 401K with company match, and comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of business, accounting, bookkeeping, medical/insurance claim processing and/ or human service.
• Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures for financial services.
• Proven, solid Excel skills and exposure to automated accounting system.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate payment and receipt processing by processing accounts payable accounts receivable transactions.
• Input credit and debits to the accounting system in support of the payables and receivables work.
• Develop and maintain reports and files on the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
• Input general ledger entries for account changes.
• Develop and maintain reports and files on asset and liability account balances.
• Develop and maintain regular reports via the company’s accounting system.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• All staff has the responsibility to propose ways to improve quality and participate in quality improvement efforts.
