Job summary

Addison Group in Vienna, VA is seeking a seasoned accounting professional for a hybrid, temp-to-perm role focused on monthly close, GL management, and government-contracting compliance.

The position requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge including FAR/CAS, and collaboration with Controllers and Financial Analysts to support reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience required.
• Government contracting accounting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Play a hands-on role in the monthly close process and help ensure close activities are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation
• Analyze account balances and investigate financial activity as needed
• Review invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, and compliance with company policies
• Ensure accounting transactions comply with applicable government contracting requirements
• Apply knowledge of FAR, CAS, and GAAP to accounting activities and financial processes
• Support financial reporting and other accounting initiatives as needed
• Work closely with the Controller and Financial Analyst on accounting and finance priorities
• Assist across multiple accounting functions based on business needs
• Maintain accurate, compliant, and audit-ready financial records
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and operate effectively with minimal supervision

Job description

Location: Vienna, VA (Hybrid - Monday through Thursday onsite, 1 remote day/week)

Type: Temp-to-Perm

Compensation: $35-$40/hour; approximately $80,000 on conversion with flexibility up to $85,000

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
