Wayland Baptist University is seeking a financial coordinator at its Plainview Campus to manage external grant reporting and ensure compliance with donor stipulations. The role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting and have experience in not-for-profit financial oversight. The position is non-exempt and involves a full-time workload of 37.75 hours per week.
LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University – Plainview Campus
REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Services
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
Monitor the financial recording and reporting for external grants, restricted gifts, and endowment spending distributions. Assist with external grant reporting, ensuring reports accurately reflect information in the financial system, comply with grant agreements, and amounts due are requested timely. Prepare the accounting of gift batches and endowment fund activity. Monitor restricted gifts and endowment spending distributions to ensure funds are used effectively and in compliance with donor stipulations. Working closely with Advancement and Financial Aid, document and communicate restrictions and amounts available for use.

The work environment for this position is a standard office setting. Employees will work primarily at a desk or workstation, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers. The office maintains controlled temperature. Noise levels are generally moderate, with typical office sounds such as conversations and office machinery.
Hours of Work: Plainview campus - Although full-time, nonexempt Plainview employees are normally scheduled to work 37.75 hours per week; the official work week for full‑time salaried employees is forty (40) hours.
Physical Demands:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of the hire date to establish identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
