Accounting Specialist at Dupuy Group

The Dupuy Group, founded in 1936, is a diversified global logistics and storage provider headquartered in New Orleans, LA. We specialize in handling food grade cargo, blending, bulk handling, and coffee cleaning and upgrading, utilizing advanced technology and decades of experience to optimize storage solutions.

We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in New Orleans. This role involves working closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and the completion of core accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

1. Record daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts.
2. Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
3. Manage customer payments via cash, ACH, and wire transfers to maintain up-to-date accounts receivable.
4. Manage collection activities on delinquent accounts.
5. Assist with monthly closing procedures and maintain supporting schedules such as prepaids and fixed assets.
6. Post journal entries to the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
2. Three to five years of accounting experience.
3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with moderate to advanced skills.
6. CPA or CPA candidacy is a plus but not required.
